RAMONES: Content & Commerce Design for a 50th Anniversary Celebration
Creating a digital experience for a legendary punk band’s 50th anniversary, connecting editorial content, ecommerce, email, and fan acquisition into one cohesive campaign system.

Challenge
Ramones needed a digital experience that could support a major anniversary moment across multiple touchpoints: the main Drupal site, Shopify store, email templates, and a countdown teaser page built to capture fan interest before launch.
The challenge was to create something that felt true to the band’s legacy while still functioning as a modern content and commerce system. The experience needed to celebrate 50 years of Ramones, drive fans into the store, support campaign storytelling, and give the team flexible design assets that could work across site, shop, and email.

Creative direction, web design, ecommerce design, and email design

My Approach
I designed the experience as a connected campaign rather than a single page. The Drupal site gave the anniversary story a home, the Shopify store supported the merch and product experience, and the email templates extended the campaign into fan communication.
I also created a countdown teaser placeholder page as an acquisition play, giving fans a clear pre-launch destination and the team a way to build momentum before the full experience went live. Across the work, I focused on keeping the design bold, direct, and visually aligned with the Ramones’ identity while making sure each touchpoint had a clear job to do.
Result
The final design system gave Warner and the Ramones team a flexible anniversary campaign experience across content, commerce, and email. The work included multi-page Drupal site designs, Shopify store designs, email template concepts, and a countdown teaser experience for pre-launch fan acquisition.
The designs were well received by management and moved forward into build and launch, giving the anniversary campaign a cohesive digital foundation that could honor the band’s legacy while supporting modern ecommerce and fan engagement.
