Designing the Drop: Korn x Adidas Sneaker Queue

Creating a multistate queue experience to fight bots and deliver a fair, fan-first sneaker release now used across high-demand merch drops

Challenge

Korn’s collab with Adidas meant serious hype — and serious risk of bots and resellers flooding the system. We needed a digital waiting room and queue interface that could adapt to multiple states (pre-queue, active queue, sold out, VIP access), while aligning with both Korn’s creative vision and Adidas’s strict brand standards.

My Role

UX & UI Designer, Production Designer

My Approach

I led the design of a fully branded queue experience using a third-party anti-bot tool. I learned the platform’s capabilities inside and out, mapped every possible customer state, and worked through multiple design iterations to match each flow. I created high-fidelity mocks across all queue states and worked closely with developers to ensure smooth implementation and performance.

Result

The launch went off clean. Fans had a smooth experience, and bots didn’t get in. The queue design has since been reused for other major launches, including the Grateful Dead x Oregon x Nike Air Pro Max 90 collaboration.
